Shona retires after 25+ years service

After 25 wonderful years of service, Shona McKend is hanging up her housekeeping keys, breakfast apron and no doubt a few emergency “I’ll just sort that” hats, as she heads off into a very well-deserved retirement.

Shona has been an absolute gem at the hotel, looking after housekeeping and also cooking breakfasts two days a week — proving there really wasn’t much she couldn’t turn her hand to.

While Shona is delighted to be retiring and looking forward to more quality time with her family, I am currently sitting with my head in my hands wondering how on earth we replace someone quite so brilliant!

Thank you, Shona, for your hard work, loyalty, good humour and everything you have given to the team over the years. We will miss you hugely, but we wish you the happiest and most well-earned retirement.
