They did it !!!

Hotel owner Chris Walker, Assistant Manager Alistair Cooper and regular guest Ian Proud made the 444 mile journey across Scotland on bicycles. Starting from here in Kirkcudbright the trio cycled up the Ayrshire coast, through Arran, up through Tarbert and Argyll and Bute to Appin before heading to Fort William and onto Fort Augustus. Three more days still to go took them up to Tain and then to Tongue via The Crask inn with the final day Tongue to John o'Groats. The trio have raised over £2600 for The British Heart Foundation and were supported along the way by Chris's wife Sue who drove the support van, organised lunch stops and overnight accommodations. Chris said after the ride " Just a huge thank you to all who have supported us through donations, moral support and messages on Facebook. Thank you too to Krombacher low alcohol beer for our kit and their kind donation, thanks to my lovely wife Sue for putting up with me and my mad ideas, to Ian and Big Al for their support and to all the team at the hotel for looking after the place."
