Head Chef Scoops Award


Executive Head Chef Paul Somerville has been awarded joint CHEF OF THE YEAR 2012 in the Dumfries and Galloway Life awards.

A packed Easterbrook Hall were told that the two finalists Paul and Lara Smith from the Buccleuch Arms in Moffat could not be separated and were therefore jointly awarded the Chef of the Year title.

We are delighted that Paul has been recognised for all his hard work. Paul and I have worked together for over 20 years from our days at Creebridge House Hotel to when we had The Masonic Arms in Gatehouse. Paul has always had local produce at the forefront of his cooking promoting the region whenever he can. He has also been a tremendous mentor to dozens of young chefs that have passed through his Kitchens. It was Paul’s time, an award well deserved.
