Kirkcudbright town hall will play host this year to a wonderful collection of painting by Alexander Goudie.

Goudie born in Paisley in 1933 studied at Glasgow school of Art and went on to teach before devoting his entire life to his studio.

Inspired by the poetry of Robert Burns was his last major project was to illustrate the poem Tam O’Shanter with a series of 54 paintings.
